Lymphedema
Prairie Rehabilitation Services provides treatment for lymphedema and edema management. Physical therapist, Lori Johnson is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, which was the first program in the nation and is recognized as the lymphedema healthcare leader. She is also a LANA certified lymphedema therapist. This is a nationally standardized certification through the Lympology Association of North America.

JOHNSON, PT, CLT-LANA at Prairie Rehabilitation Services is a
Certified Lymphedema Therapist. She treats patients experiencing
an accumulation of fluid or swelling due to surgeries, injuries,
and other conditions.
Lymphedema is the accumulation of fluid or swelling in a body part, which may lead to serious complications. The largest portion of patients who will benefit from this treatment are people with post-surgical mastectomy, but treatment is also indicated for all types of lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, post-surgical or post-traumatic swelling, amputations, sports injuries, and migraine headaches.
Edema management is effective on most tissue swellings and includes a combination of skin care, manual lymph drainage, exercise, and bandaging. This non-invasive, painless and very effective therapy for lymphedema and other related conditions has been utilized in Europe successfully for decades and has now become widely recognized in the United States.
