Post-Offer Employment Testing focuses on determining whether an individual is physically capable of performing a specific job to proactively minimize the risk of injury. Pre-Work Screens have also been called Physical Abilities Tests, Pre-Placement Tests, Fitness for Duty Tests, Physical Demands Tests, and Worker Selection Tests.

PWS is a functional test to determine an individual’s ability to safely perform the physical requirements of a specific job. The PWS is used at time of hire, post offer/pre-hire. These tests detect employees who have pre-existing conditions and/or are unable to perform relevant job specific activities. Pre-Work Screens can be catered to specific job positions based on the Functional Job Analysis (Job Description). The PWS requires applicants to perform the functional tasks that replicate the job requirements.
